Roland Juno 60 panel redesign

Personal project
Panel re-design and printing / Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, 2009

The Roland Juno-60 is a popular 61-key polyphonic synthesizer introduced by Roland Corporation in September 1982. Since its inception, it has become emblematic in professional music production, favored by artists like Madonna, A-Ha, and Duran Duran.

As a discontinued electronic instrument, it is now a rare gem on the market and highly sought after in today’s vintage revival. I was fortunate to find one at a good price from a secondhand instrument dealer in Santo Domingo in 2009.

To personalize it, I removed the original design from its panel and screen-printed a new all-white design inspired by the 8-bit, computer visuals of the era when the Juno was born.
