Ambiente by Gabriel Lora

This project was a personal endeavor under the theme “deconstruct/reconstruct,” where I exclusively used open-source, royalty-free archive images to illustrate a story I wrote.

The story envisions a utopic world where bad music doesn’t exist. The narrated speech features my text, recorded by Kelvin Chiang, and the full text is available below the video.

We live in this world where many things are found to be unfair,
things that keep people unhappy and drive people crazy.
Things like fights ith your close ones, death by pollution and good business.

We live in a world of disharmony,
in a world of misunderstanding, violence and bad music.
Very, very bad music.

Commercial entertainment has the lead in this world’s cheap 1-dollar propaganda,
which is cheap, but effective.
Don’t forget, a lot of bad music.

So much bad music that the unhappy population is rapidly increasing its number,
causing a group of people to make a drastic decision
and change all this corruption, crime and bad music.

A group of forward-thinking people, or creative,
have come up with a plan to escape planet Earth
and flee to a new planet called Ambiente.

An undercover plan organised at the control base
from where this group, also known as Cosmic Fleet,
take off into space and towards peace.

Ambiente is a place where life takes a totally different path.
A new idea of housing improves the environment with aerodynamic cubicles.
The interior of these portable housing cubicles is physically divided by music genres.

As shown in the chart:
-Section A is assigned to Chill Out music
-Section B, for the Glitch genre
-and Section C for Tech Electronic music

This methodic thinking, these harmonic vibes in planet Ambiente enhance the enthusiasm and helps people dance to their favorite beats. The good beats.

Ambiente sleeps blindfolded beneath a thin blanket of positiveness,
and perhaps forgetting that bad will and bad music can come back to their lives,
infiltrating Ambiente.

The dark forces of Da Capo, the convicted by law, the prosecuted criminal of dissonance… Da Capo!
