2 Feet by Kalie Granier

Los Angeles, USA / January 2021

French visual artist Kalie Granier, deepening her exploration of maritime biodiversity, created a visual art piece centered on kelp and its vital role in both micro and macro ecosystems and global ecological balance.

This film pays tribute to ecofeminist thought, which links ecology and feminism, arguing that the exploitation of nature and the oppression of women stem from the same capitalist, patriarchal, and colonial systems. Through this project, Granier emphasizes the essential place and purpose of kelp, establishing a profound dialogue with this living environment to which we are intrinsically connected.

The film received multiple recognitions at different film festivals and events worldwide.
